“There is no blue without yellow and without orange.” – Vincent Van Gogh

For the love of orange

The title of the dailypost weekly challenge said it all about the theme this week – “Orange you glad it’s photo challenge time”. I could have chosen a lot of photos from my photo library as I have hundreds of photos where orange is the dominant colour, but decided just to stick with these four for now, but I may revisit this theme at a later date as I have an idea for a series of photos.

Signs of autumn

One, two, three

Color by Christina Rossetti

What is pink? a rose is pink
By a fountain’s brink.
What is red? a poppy’s red
In its barley bed.
What is blue? the sky is blue
Where the clouds float thro’.
What is white? a swan is white
Sailing in the light.
What is yellow? pears are yellow,
Rich and ripe and mellow.
What is green? the grass is green,
With small flowers between.
What is violet? clouds are violet
In the summer twilight.
What is orange? Why, an orange,
Just an orange!
